Public Theology of a Different Sort

The song is "public theology" of a different sort. I wrote it for my sister's recent wedding, and I took the themes from a lecture Tim Keller delivered in promotion for his book on marriage.​ It is a very unusual love song in our context, since it celebrates the need for "a piece of paper," the importance of a lifelong covenant commitment for marital happiness.

Kerry and I recorded this in one take, live in front of a microphone. No overdubs or fancy mixing.​
