Speaking to William F. Buckley, Jr.,  July 25, 1977:​

Now, you know—you’ve traveled the world as I have—the one thing about left wing politicians is they are always fanatical. They never let go. It’s their religion.

She went on to describe their disproportionate influence on the British Labor Party. We can see this universal characteristic of Left Wing politics (it's their religion) in action today, as the Democrat Party in America is utterly beholden to the most fanatical wings of their base.
