Welcome to my remodeled website, now called Dead Reckoning! As you can see, the design is far superior to what it was, offering a clean, crisp, and simple viewing experience. I'm rather fond of it, and hope you are, too! You can read about the new name in the "About Me" tab.
So what's new? First and most importantly, the website has a brand-new domain name. It can now be reached by going to www.drbrianmattson.com. Make a note of it! Tell all your friends! Tweet it to the world! I appreciate it!
The content is mostly the same, although coming hopefully soon will be a new tab on the top called "Podcasts," and soon after that one entitled "Video." The Twitter feed on the right is much-improved, and you can see in one place articles I link and any pithy words of wisdom I come up with. I do hope to do more Twitter posts that don't just involve linking other articles, so stay tuned...
The biggest change by far is that I have now opened my blog posts for comments. I do this with some trepidation because I have had a miserable experience in the past with trolls who seem to lack gainful employment in spite of their self-promoted brilliance (odd, that) with nothing better to do than launch never-ending ad hominem attacks on relatively obscure blogs (i.e., mine). I'm happy to get thoughtful feedback from my readers, but I will moderate any anonymous comments. ("Anonymous comment" should, in my opinion, be an oxymoron anyway.)
Now, on a personal note, I want to let you know that I'm moving to the Beartooth Mountains for the next two months on what I'm thinking of as a "writing sabbatical." There will be few distractions, so I plan to get a lot done on a forthcoming book project. I will also have more time to write some quality content for this website. The only real distraction will be that I"ll have a beautiful blue-ribbon trout stream literally in my backyard. So my "thinking time" will be spent with a fly on the water.
Also, mark your calendars for the upcoming CCL Annual Conference in October, at which I will be the keynote speaker. If you're in the area or want to fly in, I'd love to see you! See the super-cool flyer below!
Again, thanks for stopping by the new website, and I hope you like it as much as I do!
