On The Reliability of the Gospels

I tweeted this today, but it really is worthy of a separate blog post. This video is a lecture given by Pete Williams, formerly a professor of Old Testament at my alma mater, the University of Aberdeen, and now the Warden of Tyndale House in Cambridge.

I knew him a bit in Aberdeen. Dr. Williams is an extraordinary genius, particularly when it comes to languages. He learns ancient tongues for the sheer fun of it. He loves ancient texts so much that I know he was once trying to grow his own papyrus. I never heard if he succeeded or not.

This lecture is sure to be an eye-opener for those unaware of recent scholarship on the reliability of the gospels. What sets it apart, however, is not just content, but presentation. He proves to be an unusually engaging and passionate speaker. You will not be disappointed if you invest the time to watch this. I know it is one of the best videos I've seen in a long time.
